Cafeteria News

       Welcome back! I hope your summer was great!  There are some changes in the cafeteria that I would like to bring to your attention. First and foremost the method for pre-paying has been up-dated. Please pre-pay only in amounts divisible by $1.75 or you will receive change. Pre–pay checks are to be made out to SME Cafeteria. We will no longer accept pre-payment for snacks, as this holds up the line.

        The second method of payment is to have your child pay on a daily basis.

        The lunch ticket program will be handled through the cafeteria. This is a courtesy

Offered for emergency purposes only. Any family that abuses this service will have their account turned over to the administration.

        I am happy to let you know that the price for lunch will remain the same. Milk will go up to $.50 each. Chips, popcorn, rice krispie treats, fruit roll-ups and most ice cream will be $.50. Frozen juice bars (shape-ups), orchard fruits and small cookies will be $.25.

Pretzel rods are$.05. Large cookies will be offered twice a month at $1.00 each.

          All foods on the sharing table must be individually wrapped or they will be thrown out. Per the Erie County Health Department.

         The cafeteria does not except foreign currency of any kind. This includes but is not limited to Canadian and Chuckie Cheese tokens.

         Field trip lunches will be offered again this year. The field trip lunch consists of a choice of sandwich, choice of fruit and choice of beverage. Each lunch also contains veggie sticks, a cookie, condiments, a straw and napkin. The form will come home from the student’s homeroom teacher.

         When sending in Birthday treats please include spoons, napkins, cups, etc. The kitchen is not responsible for providing these. Also please consider doing a birthday treat through the cafeteria. We are aware of all allergies and special dietary needs and can make sure that every student receives a treat. The cost for this is $20.00 per grade.

          The cafeteria cannot be responsible for giving change from one sibling to the other. If change needs to go from one sibling to another it is to be taken to Sister Eva.

          It is necessary for the kitchen to have an accurate lunch count by 9:30 a.m. We use this to insure that each student receives the lunch they want. If a child comes in late it is their responsibility to stop at the kitchen and give us their lunch order. Orders after 10:00 a.m. will be given whatever lunch is still available.

         Please feel free to join your child for lunch. If you wish to do this please call in the morning to order lunch. The phone number for the kitchen is 683-2112 ext.119. Remember bringing in outside food (i.e. Burger King) is not allowed. We are a federally funded program and must adhere to strict guidelines.
